Local Highlights of Yangon, Bagan and Inle Lake - 8 Days
Myanmar

Feb 5 - Feb 11, 2019
I've always loved the planning process for my holidays but while researching on Myanmar on a tight timeline, I felt increasingly unsure as I navigated through inconsistent and outdated details from Tripadvisor forums. For once, I wanted to just sit back and not worry about planning and timings etc. And than I came across KimKim.
I had sent Anne a query on a weekend and heard back from her in under an hour with recommendations based on my needs. The itinerary was so thoughtful that I didn't even think to make any changes. And with that, two weeks later I was packed and ready to visit Yangon and the lesser known southern towns of Mawlamyine/Hpa-An.
I was guided by the knowledgeable Nwel in Yangon. What an incredibly smart and articulate guide - no history question fazed her, and I am determined to come back and explore more of Myanmar with her. And then we moved to Mawlamyine and Hpa-An for the next 3 nights with the kind and sincere Akm. To anyone who is curious about Hpa-An... my advise to you is - go! I was blown away by the scenic - many a times I felt like I was in Jurrasic world (no kidding), and curious to why such a beautiful and idyllic town does not see as much visitors as a place like Bagan. When you go, you must stay at Hpa-An Lodge. We were incredibly sad to leave the place and are determined to bring more of our friends back.
And lastly, we want to give a shoutout to our kind, earnest and affable driver Thaw. He was with us the entire 7 days and we greatly enjoyed his presence that it almost felt like we made a new friend.
If you're thinking of going to Myanmar, go. And go with Anne from Kimkim/Myanmar Pure - you will have the trip of a lifetime.
Thanks, Eleanor, for sharing your feedback on your visit to Myanmar! I am glad we were able to put together such a memorable trip for you at the last minute- your photos truly capture the beauty and serenity of Hpa An! On behalf of Nwel, AKM and Thaw, thanks for visiting and we hope to welcome you back again to Myanmar soon!
