Authenticity

A thoroughly modern (and family-owned and operated) hotel that opened in 2019, Carpe Diem Boutique may not have the historic architecture that others in Nafplio's Old Town do, but it captures the city's spirit in other ways. Specially curated and customized artwork adorns the walls, reflecting different characteristics of Nafplio, and the central location immerses you immediately in the history of this city that has been ruled by the Byzantines, Franks, Venetians, and Ottomans over centuries. The hotel's name, "Carpe Diem," reflects owner Leonidas' philosophy of enjoying each moment, evident in his and his family's warm hospitality and attention to detail.

Location

With landmarks like Syntagma Square just a 2-minute walk away and the Archaeological Museum of Nafplion even closer, the hotel is a convenient base for sightseeing on foot. For beach enthusiasts, Aravantia Beach is about 10 minutes away on foot, while Tolo Beach is a 20-minute drive. If you want to experience Nafplio's history firsthand, wander the cobblestoned streets and colorful buildings of Old Town or drive up to the 18th-century Palamidi Fortress within 10 minutes for panoramic views of the area. You can also walk up the 999 steps to the fortress.

Rooms & Bathrooms

Nine rooms are spread across three floors, each with a distinctive color scheme and contemporary elements. The vibe is modern and elegant, highlighted by wooden accents, textured textiles, stylish furnishings, and sleek, metal, glass, or natural fixtures (those stone sinks!). All have private balconies letting in that Greek sunshine and offering views of the city and/or out to the Argolic Gulf. The Junior Suite stands out with its spacious terrace and mini hammam (within the walk-in shower enclosure)—a nice perk to cap off a day of exploring.

Amenities

The hotel offers a healthy homemade breakfast featuring locally sourced produce. The menu includes cereals, omelets, eggs, toast, yogurt, cheeses, homemade pastries and jams, traditional spinach and cheese pies, and a variety of coffees. Outdoor seating is available when weather permits. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant, but an on-site bar is open all day and into the evening. You can order a beverage to take to your room or sit in the lobby lounge, where you can find small offerings of chocolate and homemade sweets. Guests have access to laundry service and an airport shuttle for a charge. 

Family-Friendliness

The hotel has family-friendly suites that sleep up to four, and cribs are available in some units. Although the hotel doesn't have specific amenities for kids (save for the puzzles and board games), its proximity to beaches and museums makes it a convenient option for parents with kids in tow. Apart from third-floor units (the elevator only reaches the second floor), the hotel is stroller-friendly.
