Authentic desert camp offering Bedouin-style tents, traditional dining, and an evening campfire in Wadi Rum

Overview

Hasan Zawaideh Camp offers an authentic Bedouin experience amid the red dunes of Wadi Rum. On the property, you'll find various tents that provide an escape from the elements and offer beautiful views of the desert landscape. This low-key desert retreat is just over a 10-minute drive from the Wadi Rum Protected Area and the Wadi Rum Visitor Center, making it an excellent base for exploring the Jordanian Desert. Driving a bit further, you can reach the ancient Alameleh Inscriptions and Lawrence's Spring in about 30 minutes. From the property, you can also head out on foot or by camel and visit other nearby sights like the Seven Pillars of Wisdom and the Burrah Canyon.

Accommodations at Hasan Zawaideh Camp range from simple, dome-shaped permanent tents to cabins decked out with colorful interiors. All guestrooms are designed to provide a comfortable desert stay and come equipped with showers, complimentary toiletries, and portable fans. Some accommodations even offer space for up to four guests—perfect for a group of friends or a small family. As night falls in the desert, cozy up under thick wool blankets to ward off the chilly desert air.

Begin your day with a hearty breakfast to fuel your desert adventures. When the sun starts to descend, witness the dunes awash in a spectacular golden glow. In the evenings, sit around the campfire and savor freshly prepared Bedouin dishes.

Authenticity & Character
It was just okay. Could have been in Arizona and you wouldn’t know the difference.
Location
It was not remote enough. It was among many other camps.
Staff
Not really interacted.
Cleanliness & Comfort
Old bedding. Shower was working but not draining.
