Ana Calvera
I was born and raised closed to the Pyrenees, the natural paradise of Spain.
Travelling and learning languages and about other cultures has been my passion since I was a kid.
So, I decided to study a degree on Translation and Interpreting in Barcelona, which is and will always be my favorite city.
Later on, my studies, work and pleasure took me to live in Ireland, the States and China, and to travel to many countries around the world.
So, with all this travel background, I decided it was about time to return home and help others discover my own culture and country by founding YourTripToSpain.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"Any tailor-made travel experience around Spain and Portugal, but I love adding a special touch by including some off-the-beaten-track destinations or unique experiences which allow travelers delve into the real Spain and Portugal and enjoy an unforgettable travel.
It can be cooking with a chef, hiking around Ordesa National Park or Douro Valley, a photography tour around the white villages of Andalucia or Alentejo villages, visiting the workshop of a luthier of Spanish guitars or learning how to dance flamenco.
I love planning family and food & wine trips. In general, all those which involve special requests and care. They are challenging but rewarding.
I love listening to my clients' requests, needs and interests to match the ideal travel experience for them. "
How did you get involved in travel?
"My life has been a travel. So, I decided to make my passion become my daily life.
I founded YourTripToSpain with the goal to provide travelers with a deeper travel experience in my country, which allowed them to have a true contact with locals, uncover our traditions and experience the real Spain and Portugal.
And here we are, going beyond the clichés and beyond the highlights....with the ultimate aim of creating lifetime memories."
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"There have been many unique travel experiences, but the most special and the one which changed me as a person was the year that I was living in China.
By that time, the country was not as developed as it is now. So, I had the opportunity to have an unforgettable approach to locals and to their enriching culture by learning their language.
In the end, as we say at YourTripToSpain, it is all about people...and people, locals, make your travel experience unique."
