Combining my passion for exploration, which I inherited from my father, and love for my mother's homeland, Tibet, I started Basanta Adventure Treks and Expeditions with the hope of giving others the opportunity to experience this sacred land.
Today, we have successfully completed over 20 years in the business and now offer a wide range of treks and expeditions in Tibet, Nepal, and Bhutan. We follow the principle of "doing business with a purpose," where we aim to bring travelers to these regions to not only experience the hospitality and beauty of the country but also immerse themselves in the local life, culture, and spiritual/religious beliefs.
I consider myself truly blessed to be in the travel industry, making dreams come true for people around the world. Our aim is to enhance the mental and physical well-being of our guests while sharing our cultural and natural heritage. Understanding the core interests and expectations of our guests before designing and planning any holiday program is of utmost importance to me, and I always go the extra mile to exceed their expectations.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"I have extensively traveled most parts of Tibet, specializing in customizing holiday experiences. I believe in going the extra mile by researching intricate details about each program.
Along with standard holiday tours, I plan and organize special interest tours, such as spiritual tours, cultural tours, incentive tours, and festival tours. My in-depth knowledge about our culture, history, and spirituality allows me to provide more enriching experiences for our guests.

How did you get involved in travel?
"Love of my motherland and eagerness to introduce natural beauty, cultural heritage and the most importantly give Tibetan people the greatest opportunity to meet and interact to the people from around the world motivated me to start company and start a career in travel trade full time. "

"One of the most unique experiences that I will never forget is my first trip to Kailash, leading a group of travelers from Singapore. This adventure took our guest from sea level to the highest plateau on Earth. It was a challenging journey, with no lodges or roads, and our guide was often intoxicated. Guest being physically unfit and the lack of infrastructure because Tibet was opened for outside world, harsh climatic condition, despite all these issues, the natural beauty of Kailash, the energy of surrounding the area made us forget all the hardship of the journey when we reached Kailash, it was truly magical."
