Carina Martinez

Originally from the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro, I found my home in Amsterdam after years of traveling the world by sea and air. My journeys have taken me to 70 countries, allowing me to learn multiple languages and cultures, which made me realize that life without exploration is a missed opportunity.

How did you get involved in travel?

"My passion for travel was ignited early on, inspired by my grandparents who lived in Buenos Aires. The excitement of picking them up at the airport during their visits fueled my imagination, and their stories transported me to far-off places. At 21, I embarked on my first adventure, working on passenger cruises throughout the Mediterranean for nine thrilling months filled with adventure. That transformative experience made it impossible for me to return to a "normal" life.

Over the following years, I embraced new opportunities, traveling extensively through Western and Northern Europe by sea before relocating to Dubai, where I worked as a flight attendant for four years. Although my intense travel days paused after moving to Amsterdam, I continue to assist travelers around the world in bringing their adventures to life. This fills my heart with joy, as I live vicariously through their experiences and share in their excitement."

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"I will never forget is my first trip to Bali. I expected to encounter stunning nature and rich culture, but what truly left a lasting impression was the incredible kindness of the Balinese people. Traveling alone, I felt at home and at peace from the moment I arrived. The warmth and hospitality I received were unexpected, and it nourished my soul in ways I never thought possible.

Every interaction, whether with a local vendor or a fellow traveler, felt genuine and heartfelt. I realized that connecting with locals is the best way to truly experience a destination. This journey taught me that the spirit of a place is often found in its people, and it has inspired me to seek meaningful connections wherever I go."
