Colas Hauspie
I grew up in France, the most visited country in the world, where tourism strives in every region and even in the rural areas, helping to keep local communities strong and countryside villages attractive.
There's just something about Japan, outside of Tokyo or Kyoto, that makes an immersive visit and that's what I would like to introduce to all travelers. Japan is a beautiful country with hidden gems that only ask to be discovered in its countryside.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"I am an expert on Japan nation-wide and in all its activities and experiences, being cultural, gourmet, outdoor."
How did you get involved in travel?
"Having graduated with a Japanese-language degree, I got into the travel industry with my first internship in Japan. I learned on the job when I joined a long-established Japanese Travel Agency where I was the only foreign staff. For 3 years, I've had the opportunity to plan, organize and sometimes even join many groups though their trips in all of Japan."
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"Out of all the amazing activities and views I have experienced, such as seeing Geisha performances, seeing morning training of Sumo wrestlers, climbing Mount Fuji...
The most cherished experience I have was when I was hiking in the mountains of the north of Japan, and was randomly but warmly invited and welcomed by a cheerful group of countryside folks, all men and women over the age of 70, to share snacks, drinks and laughs with.
An authentic and unexpected experience with the heart of Japan that made me wish to for going more to the countryside and help travelers in making the same kind of unique encounters."
