Whether it's a luxury hotel, or a budget AirBnB; whether it's three days hiking in the boggy Scottish highlands, or a week lying on the beach with a piña colada in hand; I love all kinds of travel. The only prerequisite I have, is that I try to do my traveling outside of peak seasons so as to avoid queues, crowds, and high prices.
Now, I combine my love of writing and traveling as a travel copywriter and journalist.

How did you get involved in travel?

"A 6-week school exchange to Tasmania, Australia, when I was 14 began my love of travelling. I remember tentatively telling my parents about the opportunity, fully expecting them to say no. In fact, I was only telling them about it to test their boundaries. So when they said "great idea, you should definitely go" I was in shock. Deep down, I didn't want to go; I was afraid I would miss home. It ended up being one of the best 6 weeks of my life, and led to another 6-week exchange in South Africa and Swaziland two years later, six months traveling across South America at 19, and countless other experiences in Turkey, Europe, India, until I settled in Spain a few years ago. "

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"Climbing up Table Mountain in Cape Town by mistake. Little did I realize, as I set out to the botanic gardens on a hungover Sunday dressed in my vintage outfit and €2 shoes, that I would be climbing up and down Table Mountain that afternoon. Thankfully, I latched onto two serious hikers when I reached the top , the three of us making our way down the mountain in pitch black darkness together. "
