It's an easy journey from San Andrés Island to Cartagena, which is about 445 miles (716 km) south of the island. Long gone are the days of boats making the trip—now the only option to and from the island is to take a flight. A flight from Cartagena’s airport is a quick 1 hour and 25 minutes.

Leave the logistics to your local specialist with this 6-day itinerary. You’ll visit stunning attractions on the San Andrés and Providencia Islands, including the local food and culture, diving and snorkeling in one of the world’s largest barrier reefs, and hiking trails for exceptional views of the Caribbean.

By Plane

Duration: 1 hour and 25 mins

There are direct routes from Cartagena’s Rafael Nuñez International Airport (CTG) to Gustavo Rojas Pinilla International Airport (ADZ) on the island. Major domestic airlines like Viva Air and LATAM make flights daily that take about 1 hour and 25 minutes.

The island’s airport is a very small airport centered near the town, making it very easy to reach most accommodation locations on foot. If not, taxis are readily available outside the terminal, just be sure to use your negotiating skills for a reasonable price.
