Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Cape Town
Welcome to amazing Cape Town! Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel, where you will enjoy magnificent views and South African cuisine. Enjoy the rest of the evening walking around town.
Day 2: Fitness Evaluation & Cooking Class
Enjoy a carb-conscious breakfast before getting a fitness evaluation, weigh-in, and body fat measurements with discussions about eating habits. The core assessment will include tips on how to engage your core both during training and in daily routines. Flexibility, push up, and squat assessments incorporate suggestions on how to improve techniques.
After your fitness assessment, head to town for a walking tour of historical sites like the Castle of Good Hope and the Grand Parade. At night, a health chef will teach you about healthy cooking and show you a few recipes to enjoy for dinner.
Day 3: Beach Cardio & Surfing Lesson
Today, you'll work on cardio and core by the beach. The session will include a beach run, sprints, stair climbing, and core work. These exercises get your heart rate up and down, boosting both metabolism and fitness. Instructors will challenge each participant according to their fitness level.
After a short break, you'll get an introductory surf lesson, which will get you ready to hit the waves. In the afternoon, you'll do some Pilates to stretch out your muscles in a studio with a panoramic view of Blouberg, the sea and Table Mountain.
Finish the day with a healthy dinner.
Day 4: TRX Suspension Training
Today, you will be learning about TRX suspension training, which was designed by a marine who spent a significant amount of time at sea with little space to work out. The beauty of this type of training is that you can regress or progress each body weight movement according to strength and fitness. Add free weights to routines for an added challenge.
Spend the rest of the day at your leisure; relaxing, or visiting some of the sites of Cape Town. End off with dinner at one of the local plant-based restaurants.
Day 5: Hiking Table Mountain
Start your day early by enjoying one of Cape Town's numerous hiking trails. Iconic Table Mountain provides beautiful hikes year-round and this challenge is possibly one of the most rewarding experiences you will have in the city. Trails run all over the mountain, offering hikes for all fitness levels.
Chat with a local specialist who can help organize your trip.
Day 6: Canoeing & Abseiling in a Biosphere Reserve
A full day of adventure awaits you. You'll spend the day at the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, which is known for its scenery, cliffs, and rock pools.
Start with a drive to Sunbird Lodge for a hearty breakfast and safety briefing before entering the Steenbras River Gorge. Hike through beautiful fynbos to the first cliff with pools, then head off on a second hike to the top of the gorge. You'll be rewarded with awe-inspiring views and a thrilling waterfall abseil.
Light dinner and a sundowner await when you return to Cape Town.
Day 7: Crossfit & Seal Snorkeling
Start the day with Crossfit-type training. This full-body strength training uses ropes, chin-up bars, squat jumps, rowing machines, and free weights.
You'll then head to Hout Bay, where you will have the chance to visit local markets and go snorkeling with seals. Once you arrive back from this sea adventure, you will have a sunset Pilates session.
*Seal snorkeling depends on the weather. It is possible to substitute it with a Township Tour or similar activity.
Day 8: Warrior Challenge in the Park
Test your endurance with a Warrior/Impy challenge in the park. This 1.24-mile (2 km) run goes around a quiet park with obstacles to hurdle, run to, jump over, and swing across. The challenge does not allow stops and does not repeat exercises. It also continuously changes the body part in focus.
Some of the obstacles take guts—if you do not complete them, you will have to do penalty challenges. All in the name of fun, of course!
Day 9: City Cycle Tour & Table Mountain
Led by an experienced local guide, a cycling tour is one of the best ways to experience incredible Cape Town. Learn about Cape Town’s rich heritage while riding from the vibrant Waterfront to the bustling inner city, getting up close and personal with the city and its inhabitants.
From the historic city center, cycle into the colorful Bo-Kaap, then make your way towards Green Point before heading back to the Waterfront along the Atlantic Seaboard. After lunch in the city, you will go to Table Mountain by bus and take the cable car up to this iconic landmark.
Ride duration: Approximately 3 hours
Day 10: Cycle Cape of Good Hope
Depart Cape Town by bus to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve via Hout Bay and the well-known Chapman’s Peak drive.
Once you arrive at the reserve, the group will unload its mountain bikes for a guided ride through fynbos and beautiful beaches. On the journey, you will have a good chance of spotting antelope-like bonteboks, elands, zebras, and the famous chacma baboons of Cape Point.
Visit the lighthouse and Cape of Good Hope, the southernmost western tip of the African Continent. After the ride, you will load the bikes and drive to a magnificent lunch spot overlooking astonishing False Bay. You then have the option to visit the Boulders Beach Penguin Colony before heading to the Stellenbosch Winelands.
Distance: Approximately 16-19 miles (25-30 km)
Ride duration: Approximately 3 hours, including some time to explore the lighthouse.
Day 11: Cycle the Cape Winelands
After a power breakfast, explore the beautiful scenery and sites of Historic Stellenbosch with excellent wine pairings and some healthy outdoor exercise. Cycle to the historic sites of Stellenbosch Town and head to the scenic Jonkershoek Valley. A winding road through oak and poplar forests will take you to a wine estate nestled in the valley bottom. Here, you can take in stunning views while tasting award-winning wines on an island on a lake.
On the way out of the valley, you will stop at another wine estate that boasts beautiful grounds and historic Cape Dutch architecture. Do a cellar tour before starting a delightful chocolate and wine pairing tour that includes a light lunch.
After the tasting and lunch, head back into Stellenbosch Town via Stellenbosch University. The afternoon can be spent in town or joining the Vine Hopper hop-on, hop-off service to two other farms in the surrounding Stellenbosch wine region. Tonight, you have some free time to explore the student town of Stellenbosch.
Distance: Approximately 19 miles (30 km)
Ride duration: Approximately 4 hours including tastings
Day 12: Cycle to Franschhoek
Cycle to the neighboring Winelands town of Franschhoek. You will cycle mostly off-road over the Helshoogte Pass, a route used by the first Dutch and French families who settled here in 1688. Enjoy fantastic views and sites along the way. Learn about small mission stations and local people living in the Banghoek Valley. Get a chance to spot elands and blue wildebeests as you cycle along multiple mountain streams in the Banhoek Conservancy.
Enjoy lunch on a Franschhoek wine estate, and have some time to explore the town. Spend the afternoon in Franschhoek while enjoying the many galleries and places of interest around town.
Distance: Approximately 31 miles (50 km)
Ride duration: Approximately 4 hours
Day 13: Cycle to Greyton
After breakfast in Franschhoek, drive up the Franschhoek Pass, which has splendid views over the Franschhoek Valley. As you cycle, enjoy beautiful scenes of lakes and Overberg farmland before you reaching the quaint, artistic town on Greyton. Have lunch in the town and spend the afternoon strolling around its small streets. End the day with a traditional South African dinner.
Distance: Approximately 28-31 miles (45–50 km)
Ride duration: Approximately 4 hours
Day 14: Cycle Elgin Towards Hermanus
Embark on a great day of cycling through plantations, winelands, and an old railway track toward Hermanus. End the ride on the manicured trails of the Hemel and Aarde Valley, with its many beautiful wine estates. Enjoy lunch before exploring the quaint seaside village of Hermanus.
Depart back to Cape Town in the late afternoon via the beautiful Clarence drive while taking in the magnificent sea views.
Day 15: Depart Cape Town
After a luxurious breakfast, it will be time to depart on your next adventure, filled with appreciation for your physical strength and a lifetime of memories.
