After freshening up, venture out to explore the city on your own. You could peruse the stalls at Crawford Market, attend a cricket match at Wankhede Stadium, or indulge in street food like kebabs along Mohammad Ali Road. Depending on the time, you can also consider booking a boat tour to Elephanta Island to discover the UNESCO-listed rock-cut caves dating back to the fifth to eighth centuries.

Wander through the network of caves, gaining insights into Hindu mythology and religious practices as you admire sculptures of deities and engravings of mythological stories. In the evening, return to the mainland and head to Colaba, a lively neighborhood at the southern tip of the city to grab dinner at one of the waterfront restaurants. Indulge in local delights like vada pav (a deep-fried potato fritter sandwiched in a bun with chutney) or a hearty fish curry. Then, choose a rooftop bar, such as Radio Bar, to enjoy a drink overlooking the city and Arabian Sea.

Day 2: Full-Day Tour of Mumbai

Follow your guide to landmarks like the University of Mumbai

After breakfast, set off on a full-day tour of the city, starting at the Gateway of India, built in 1924 to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary.
