What you'll do

Enjoy a multi-activity adventure as you make your way along the Costa Brava coastline by boat, kayak, and foot. Begin by meeting your guide at La Palanca del Racó and enjoy a walk around Tossa de Mar's Vila Vella. Stroll the medieval walled streets, stopping to see 17th-century cannons, the Far del Cap de Tossa (Cape Tossa Lighthouse), and Plaça de Ava Gardner, which is home to a life-sized bronze statue of the 1950s Hollywood star who filmed here.

Next, follow your guide to Platja Gran (Grand Beach), where you'll board a glass-bottomed boat to sail along the coast. Spot marine life along the way with crystal-clear views of the sea bed and stop at hidden caves and secluded coves like Cova d'es Berganti and Cova de Cala Bona. Once you arrive in Cala Pola, you'll be served a small meal on the soft honey sands.

After fueling up, stretch your legs along the Costa Brava's coastal path, the Camí de Ronda, which was once patrolled by Spain's security forces to combat smuggling. Walk the path for about 10 minutes until you reach the sheltered inlet, Cala Bona. On this walk, you'll be treated to panoramic coastal views, and your guide will point out Mediterranean flora, such as lavender and Rosemary.

There'll be kayaks waiting for you at Cala Bona's beach so you can paddle south along the coast as far as Platja Mar Menuda. Your guide will take you into smaller nooks and channels bigger boats can't access, so you'll get close to the rocky shoreline. Stop to snorkel in the clear waters, looking out for colorful marine life. Your journey ends at Platja Mar Menuda, where you can find a restaurant for lunch or enjoy some downtime on the beach.

We went with guide Stepan. He was probably the most professional and competent guide we have encountered on any trip. He was knowledgeable, informative and engaging. We learnt about local flora and fauna as well as local history. Stepan was well-organised and took great care to ensure we were safe, confident and comfortable. He works with the capability of the group. It's obviously not the Caribbean, but we saw many fish as well as starfish, anemones and an eel. One of our party... Read more

We learnt about local flora and fauna as well as local history. Stepan was well-organised and took great care to ensure we were safe, confident and comfortable. He works with the capability of the group. It's obviously not the Caribbean, but we saw many fish as well as starfish, anemones and an eel. One of our party developed a particularly severe case of seasickness after snorkelling and Stepan handled this with grace, reassurance and compassion.

Tips for future travelers

Snorkelling can make you sea-sick. Consider medicating if any motion-sickness tendencies.

Stepan is the best. I would consider trying any tour that he was involved with.

This tour with Ana and Theo was terrific!!
Ana gave us a great tour of Villa Velle and the " castle" . The glass bottom boat was short but fun. Theo led us on a terrific hike from Cala Pola to Cala Bona. At Cala Bona, we did kayaking after a small breakfast of pastry and juice which was super fun!!

Tips for future travelers

The hike is definitely a bit rigorous but the views were out of this world so totally worth it!
