What you'll do

First, visit the cave of Papafragkas, a cluster of sea inlets and caves shaped by volcanic activity. As you stroll around this picturesque location, you can look down into the clear turquoise waters and watch visitors swim and snorkel. Move on to Phylacopi, an ancient settlement dating back to 4000 BCE. Witness its only remaining walls and learn about the history of the place from your guide.

Your guide will now take you to the Volcanic Sarakiniko. This beach is nothing short of a lunar wonderland and is considered one of the island's most stunning geological marvels. Not to mention, it's a popular photography spot, frequently capturing the hearts and lenses of photographers from all over the world. So, take a stroll down the beach and soak in the beauty. Don't forget to snap a few photos as memories of this stunning place.

Make your way down to Plaka, a traditional Cycladic village nestled on a hilltop. As you follow your guide through Plaka's narrow alleys, you'll notice a sea of whitewashed houses, brightly painted windows, and balconies with stunning bougainvillea flowers. The intricate details and charming atmosphere make Plaka a true hidden gem. Walk through the village to appreciate its traditional architecture and soak in the breathtaking sea views. You can also try some delectable homemade sweets at the local pastry shops.

Your next destination is Christian Catacombs, the largest in Greece. As you make your way to the catacombs, you'll also come across a stunning marble amphitheater with seven awe-inspiring seat rows that offer a breathtaking view of the bay. On your way from the Catacombs to the theater, you'll also visit the spot where the famous Venus de Milo was found in 1820. Today, it resides in the Louvre Museum in Paris.

From here, you'll head to the charming fish village of Klima. This ancient port city is now home to a cluster of brightly painted houses with traditional syrma doors. As you take in the vibrant colors and stunning sea views, you'll feel like you've stepped into a postcard. If the season allows, you may even get to visit the seaside fishing village of Mandrakia, where you'll have the chance to explore authentic syrmata houses and immerse yourself in local tradition. Your guide will decide on the final destination based on traffic.

Now it's time to kick back and relax after all that exciting sightseeing! Head to the stunning Palaiochori or the gorgeous Provatas Beach for a refreshing swim in crystal-clear waters. Both coasts have changing facilities, lively beach bars, delicious restaurants, and a range of water sports to enjoy. Take some time to soak up the sun, go for a swim, and treat yourself to a refreshing drink—a perfect way to end your incredible tour of Milos before returning home.

This was an amazing tour and very worthwhile. Our guide Ian's drove us around a good portion of the island explaining history and answering our questions. We saw the place where the Venus de Milo statue was disco verde, went into some catacombs, had a chance to jump/dive off small cliffs into the ocean at an amazing beach, with fabulous white stone landscape. We had time to swim and time to lunch on our own and shop. A highlight of our trip. Read more
