What you'll do
Barcelona's Gothic Quarter is the perfect neighborhood for a tapeo (tapas walk), and you'll find the best hole-in-the-wall spots and avoid the crowds this evening with the help of an expert local guide. Your experience starts when you meet your guide and the rest of your small group near the Muralla Romana (Roman wall). After getting acquainted, start your stroll, passing important sites like the 13th-century Cathedral of Barcelona, the central Plaça de Sant Jaume, and more, as your guide reveals the history and cultural significance of these landmarks.
Your main goal is to enjoy the city's gastronomy, so once you've worked up an appetite, you'll stop at three neighborhood restaurants hidden within the medieval streets. All the eateries are small, locally owned establishments serving high-quality fare. Enjoy traditional small plates like patatas bravas (spiced fried potatoes) and chorizos a la sidra (sausages in cider) served alongside regional wine and beer, and listen as your guide shares stories of the city's culture and history. At the end of a convivial evening, you'll part ways with your new friends and can continue your tapas adventures on your own.
