Hike & Beach on Lopud Island, Dubrovnik
Overview
Most of Croatia's coast is rocky and rugged, so places like Šunj are highly appreciated. Because of its beauty and sandy surf, Lopud once functioned as the summer residence for Dubrovnik’s nobility while also being an important agricultural spot. Nowadays, however, tourism is the focal point of the local economy.
There is only one village on Lopud, perfect for a little exploration, followed by a hike to the fortress above the village, Fortress Sutvrac. From the top, your efforts are rewarded with a beautiful view of the entire area. You'll also encounter the highest palm trees in the Mediterranean on this little island!
