Lavender Tour of Provence, Sault
Overview
Explore Provence's beautiful lavender fields, focusing on the picturesque Sault or Roussillon areas, where the most colorful lavender plants bloom. Along the way, discover authentic Provence, with its typical villages, lively markets, amazing landscapes, and more.
Start by immersing yourself in the genuine atmosphere of Provence with a traditional Provençal market. Enjoy strolling through the typical stalls, full of local and fresh products that will delight your taste buds.
Then, head for Sault, known as the "capital of lavender," or idyllic Roussillon. The drive itself is just as scenic as stopping in the fields! Upon your arrival, make the most out of your free time to stroll along the charming village streets and purchase some unique souvenirs of Provence. Also, don't forget to take pictures of the marvelous landscape surrounding you!
Next, continue to explore the beauty of Provence and other villages. Start with Gordes, perched in the Luberon area and classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France, proven with its spectacular views overlooking the surrounding villages.
Then, drive to the Senanque Abbey, a majestic Cistercian monument surrounded by even more beautiful lavender fields (blooming from June 15th to July 15th).
End your journey by visiting the Lavender Museum. Learn how to produce essential oil, watch educational films, and enjoy presentations of old machinery. By the end, you'll be an expert in Provence's "purple gold!"
