What you'll do
You'll start by meeting your teacher and host at the Taller Gingell studio near Montjuïc Castle. Since this is exclusively for families, your instructor knows how to keep little minds engaged and entertained. You and your kids will enjoy a private workshop, where you'll learn the construction methods behind sculpting and hand-building, manual techniques used in pottery. These techniques are more accessible for kids than wheel-throwing, and you can easily bring these skills home without needing expensive equipment.
After a fun introduction to sculpting and hand-building, plus the materials you can use, you'll get to work creating your own masterpiece. The sky's the limit, and each family member can create a unique sculpture, a plate or bowl, or anything that comes to your imagination. Everything is included in the workshop, and you don't need prior ceramics experience to have a great time. It's best to plan the workshop on one of your first days in Barcelona, as you'll need to leave your pieces with your instructor to be kiln fired. Once they're ready, you can pick them up and see the finished product!
