What you'll do
Your adventure starts with something all ages love: snacks! Follow your private guide through the cobbled streets to several traditional shops, including the oldest shop in Barcelona. Before entering, the little ones must guess what this historic retailer sells with a few hints from your guide! Inside, you'll taste local treats, including candy and typical holiday desserts, plus have the option to enjoy a Spanish staple, churros and chocolate.
Next, it's time to explore some history and discover Barcelona's past as an ancient Roman city. Have a little fun solving a word search to reveal the city's Roman name, then explore the fortified wall established in the 3rd century. As you listen to bygone tales, the little ones will stay entertained with an activity book, solving the mystery of an ancient temple.
It's time to listen to one of Barcelona's most important legends. You'll go to the city's heart and learn about its patron saint. Can you spot him in his plaza? Kids always find him faster than adults! You'll also discover where the president lives and the symbolism of the flags fluttering around the city. Speaking of legends, make a stop at the Giants Museum, a little-known cultural gem where you'll learn about the unique role these giants and beasts play at local festivals.
Save the best for last and let your kids have fun with a little theater performance! After learning about King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella, you'll make your way to the Plaça del Rei (the medieval King's Square) and use your imagination to reenact these stories. Step into a time machine and become royalty!
