What you'll do

Potamia is a traditional village perched atop a hillside with views of a lush, cool valley below. Visitors here can explore the ruins of Naxos' rich and diverse history, ranging from the Middle Ages to the present day. During your hike, you'll find water mills, chapels, and ruined towers throughout the village, while in each neighborhood, you'll spot the ruins of one or two olive mills.

This is an easy hike for beginners who want to explore the rural life of Naxos. During this hike, you will cover a distance of approximately 3km (1.9 miles) in about 4 hours. Your driver will pick you up from your accommodation and take you to the meeting point. After a brief session of introductions, you will embark on your excursion heading to Potamia Village. There you will explore the picturesque village, Byzantine Chapels, and the Venetian Tower.

Take your time and enjoy the beautiful gardens, a slow walk by the riverside, and the informative narration of your guide. Finish your walk with a local treat and find out what 'farm to fork' really means.
