What you'll do

Explore the cobbled, historic streets of Seville's Jewish Quarter with an expert guide as you stroll among its patios and white houses. Meet your guide and the rest of your small group at the Inmaculada Concepción statue in Plaza del Triunfo for a brief introduction to the walk before setting off for the first stop: the Patio de Banderas (Courtyard of Flags), an old Moorish parade ground surrounded by orange trees. Here, you'll learn about the Alcázar, Seville's royal palace complex that was initially built as a fort and, in recent years, has served as a filming location for "Game of Thrones."

Continue around the outside of the Alcázar, along narrow alleyways lined with artisan shops and cafés, to Calle Susona. Here, listen to your guide share the grisly legend of Susona Ben-Suson, daughter of a Jewish merchant who was plotting an uprising against the Catholics, and discover why the street used to be called Calle de la Muerte (Street of Death). Next, wander down Callejón del Agua, a narrow alley that runs along the Alcázar's fortified walls, to the impeccably manicured Jardines de Murillo, which are named after the painter Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, to hear more about the Alcázar's defenses.

Next, you'll pass Iglesia de Santa María la Blanca, a Catholic church built as a synagogue in the 13th century, before strolling up Calle Verde, where you'll find one of Seville's oldest houses and learn about a Jewish massacre that took place in the 14th century. Move onto your penultimate stop, Plaza Santa Cruz, and end your journey at a top Seville tapas bar to enjoy small plates and drinks with your group and guide. You'll get the chance to sample typical Andalusian dishes and fine Spanish wines, and can even step into the basement for a look at the private wine cellar.
