Typically, your sunset game drive in Kruger National Park will begin in the late afternoon when you board an open Land Cruiser from your lodge. During your journey deeper into the bush, you may spot the Big Five African animals, which include elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, and buffaloes. It's common for an expert guide to share their wisdom about the flora and fauna you encounter along the way. 

As the late afternoon transitions into the evening, you'll likely experience the mesmerizing spectacle of an African sunset. Here, you might take a short break to enjoy a sundowner drink provided for the occasion. This time is also ideal for wildlife viewing, as many animals, such as the elusive leopard, become more active as night falls.

Following the sunset, your guides will likely use spotlights to help you spot nocturnal animals in the dark. The glow of the flashlight reflecting off a pair of eyes in the distance can be both an exhilarating and humbling experience. Your guide may momentarily turn off the lights, giving you the experience of the African bush under a starry sky with the sounds of nocturnal animals going about their routines. After a few hours, your guide may drive you back to your lodge, where you can enjoy a nice rest.
