Valley of the Butterflies Bike Tour, Rhodes

Explore the scenic Valley of the Butterflies by bike. After getting acquainted with your equipment, you'll transfer to the start of the trail and follow a rural, nearly car-free asphalt road. Enjoy views of the surrounding landscape covered in pine and olive trees before ascending along a dirt road to a small church in the middle of the forest. From this vantage point, you'll enjoy incredible views of the west coast of Rhodes.

Next, descend to another small 16th-century church as your guide shares stories about local religious traditions. Continue along the dirt road, passing through orange and olive groves on your way to a traditional village. Rest your legs and enjoy authentic Greek coffee at a kafeneio (coffee shop).

You'll pass a few more small villages in the island's interior before reaching the forest of Filerimos. Here, the trail gets quite steep, so you can opt for a car transfer up to the Filerimos archeological site. After a short break, you'll descend back down by bike (or car) and enjoy lunch at Ialysos Beach.
