Overview
La Mirande is a treasure trove of 18th and 19th-century charm housed in a 14th-century cardinal's palace. This historical monument transports you back to the enchanting 18th century, drawing its essence from the rich heritage of Avignon and Provence. The hotel's location is nothing short of romantic, nestled right next to the eastern facade of the Pope's Palace, offering picturesque views from almost every room and the beautiful garden.
Each of the 26 intimate rooms at La Mirande is individually decorated with historic French cotton prints, creating a unique travel narrative with names such as Le Grand Corail, Le Bambou, and Le Perroquet. The rooms have parquet floors, antique furniture, paintings, and silk-lined curtains. The grandeur extends to the Belle Époque bathrooms with Carrara Arabescato marble and block-printed wallpapers. If you opt for the large Deluxe Rooms or the Suites, you'll have even more space and enjoy views of the neighboring Popes' Palace through antique-glass windows.
La Mirande embodies the art of French cuisine with four distinct dining options—a sophisticated gourmet restaurant, its bistro cousin, a guest table set in the ancient kitchen, and a tavern. The Michelin-starred restaurant, under the helm of Chef Florent Pietravalle, offers a tasting menu that explores the flavors of Provence. If you're in the mood for something more relaxed, you can opt for Florent's light and simple à la carte menu in the garden room or on the adjacent terrace next to the Pope's Palace. The hotel also regularly hosts concerts, exhibitions, performances, culinary events, and themed parties.
