Authenticity

Cretan artists El Greco, Zorba the Greek author Nikos Kazantzakis, and the poet Vincenzo Kornaros are the inspirations for the rooms, which showcase their work. The gastro element can be experienced either in your room, where various local products await, or at one of the hotel’s restaurants. The star is Epsilon, the rooftop restaurant with sweeping views of Heraklion and its harbor, where a Michelin chef uses an old wood-burning oven to create rich and comforting dishes of Cretan cuisine.

The hotel is in the Eleftherias Square, just next to Georgiadis Park, so it’s ideal for exploring Heraklion. The Archaeological Museum is just three minutes away by foot, Lion Square is a little over five minutes, and the Rocca a Mare Fortress is 15 minutes away walking. The Palace of Knossos is only 15 minutes south by car or you can head west to Ammoudara Beach, which is also 15 minutes away driving.

The 12 suites are ideal for couples, solo travelers, or friends, since this adults-only hotel has an 18+ age limit and there aren’t bigger or connecting room options. All of the rooms have balconies and differ in the artist that inspired them. Practice your Greek by reading a poem of Vincenco Kornaros engraved on the mirror or grab a Kazantzakis books from your room's personal library to read on the balcony. All of the rooms include different snacks, local produce, and even olive oil for guests to taste and purchase.
