Great food and ambiance!
Charming, loved my stay. A lovely breakfast array of foods - delicious as well as the inner menu. Staff were attentive and professional.
The hotel was quaint and homey, with a beautiful upstairs patio area. Unfortunately, we didn't stay long enough to comment on the food.
Overview
Riad Kalaa, a traditional riad, is a former notable house that dates back to 1815. Found by chance in 2004, it has been revived to its former Arabo-Andalusian architectural glory. It's adorned in line with Moroccan craft techniques and is fully equipped with modern comforts. This rejuvenated haven sits centrally in Rabat, placing you within a 10-minute drive from the Hassan Tower, Royal Palace, and Rabat Beach and within walking distance from sites like the Rue des Consuls and Bab Oudayas.
Each of the 11 rooms and suites at Riad Kalaa has its own character, from the Amber and Jasmin Rooms to the Saharan and Oriental Suites. The rooms are arrayed with oriental motifs, natural zellige floors, and cedar woodwork, presenting a warm and homey ambience. The charm heightens at night with the reflections of chiseled appliques, transporting you into a world out of time. The Saharan Suites are spacious, with high ceilings and traditional tadelakt and ceramic walls and floors. The Oriental Suites are uniquely arranged in duplexes, with living rooms adaptable into children's rooms and a mezzanine bedroom overlooking a bathroom.
The riad has several appealing amenities, including an Andalusian patio, several terraces, and a hammam spa that offers a blend of relaxation and recreation. You can tantalize your taste buds at the in-house restaurant serving traditional Moroccan cuisine. The hotel's rooftop pool is a refreshing retreat after a hot day in Rabat, while the panoramic solarium offers a serene escape.
