Overview
Enjoy a luxurious stay at The George Christchurch, a historical property turned luxury boutique hotel. Named after Sir George Seymour, one of the pioneers who arrived on one of the First Four Ships to Canterbury in 1850, the hotel pays homage to its historical past while featuring modern elements for an elevated stay. The George Christchurch is located right across from the picturesque Hagley Park and the River Avon and is within proximity to other attractions, such as Christchurch Botanical Gardens and The Arts Centre, which are 10 minutes away from the hotel.
Each room at The George Christchurch is designed with comfort in mind and provides contemporary rooms with natural elements like oak leaf detailing and neutral decor. Rooms have carpeted floors, custom-made furniture, windows open to green surroundings, and spacious tile bathrooms. Upgraded rooms, such as the Junior Suite and Park Suite, offer more space with separate bedroom and lounge areas and views of the park, garden, or street. Interiors are more stylish, with plush flushing for a more luxurious stay.
The George Christchurch is also home to the award-winning 50 Bistro, renowned as one of Christchurch's best dining experiences for its 'neo-bistro' contemporary New Zealand cuisine. The hotel also offers a sophisticated high tea experience for special occasions or a delightful catch-up with friends. If you want to stay active, the hotel offers bike rentals for exploring the town and a gym to keep up with your fitness routine.
