What places and activities do you specialize in?

"I am specialized in creating romantic trips for couple and beautiful trips for families with teenagers and multi-generational families. I like romantic element, I am happy to help my clients accomplish their wish like proposal.
I have a 7-member family and we all love traveling very much. Of course I am my family's travel advisor as well. Based on my experience for my family, I know how to take good care of a family trip with all the differerent needs.
"

How did you get involved in travel?

"I love taking photos. During my off work time, I love to search and discover interesting places that aren't well known to the publics. when I visited Daxu Ancient Town in Guilin, China, I saw a tour guide ntroduce the history to visitors in English, I realized I like this kind of job. Then I found China Highlights, started my career here as a travel advisor since then!
"

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"In December 2020, I visited Beijing with my boyfriend. We hiked on Jinshanling Great wall, which was a little bit difficult for me to do, espeically it was really cold! My boyfriend encouraged me again and again. He said if I can finish 5 hours hiking, he would give me a big surprise, so I did! When the sun was setting, he was going to take a sunset photo for me. When he took out his phone, he suddenly got down on one knee with a ring! I was shocked and cried. I almost forgot I was extreme tired at that time. Sunset was so gentle with his proposal, and he is my husband now.

Alisa did fine. It would have helped if she had put the correct people together in hotel rooms to save us about an hour on the first check-in when they had completely random rooms assigned. She obviously doesn't know anything about hokkaido. We didn't need to spend one night in sapporo. We easily could have gotten up early and gone straight to the airport. It was a waste of a whole day since we didn't actually have time to see sapporo. The hilton niseko is not very good and I think another part of the mountain like hirafu would have been better to stay. It would be better to ask for help from other guides who are familiar with the ski culture.

The ski in ski out is great. There's not much to do in terms of bars and food which are not very good, and there's no shops or restaurants to go to besides what's in the hotel. The shuttle going to hirafu is very convenient though.

Hi Vanessa,

Thank you for your feedback. I'm delighted to hear that you enjoyed the overall trip. I'm also very happy to know that you were satisfied with our tour guides.

Regarding the issues you raised, I will be more careful to double-check the room assignment with the hotels in advance to save time on check-in. And the reason for suggesting an overnight stay in Sapporo instead of Niseko was mainly due to the frequent heavy snowfall and potential road closures in the Hokkaido region during this season. If your group of 10 were to miss your flight due to weather conditions, it would cause significant inconvenience.

Your suggestions are very helpful to us. I will pay more attention to confirming customers information with hotels in the future and will also strengthen communication with our customers.

I hope we have the opportunity to serve you again in the future!

Sincerely,
Alisa

The pre-planning of the trip and the tours that were set up were all excellent. Our guide in Tokyo and to Mt. Fuji - Allen - was wonderful. The only complaint I have is that our hotel check-ins took more than half and hour each time because the names for who would be occupying the rooms were completely screwed up. This caused quite a bit of confusion at check in. Kim Kim had all of our families names and knew who should be sharing rooms but somehow the room assignments were somewhat random.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on your recent trip. I'm delighted to hear that you enjoyed the pre-planning and that the tours, particularly with guide Allen in Tokyo and Mt. Fuji, were exceptional.
I sincerely apologize for the issues encountered during hotel check-ins. I understand how frustrating it can be when there are discrepancies in room assignments. Even though I have provided hotels with correct names for each guest and their respective room assignments, unfortunately, it appears there was still a miscommunication or error.
I will be reaching out to each of the hotels involved to investigate this issue further and ensure that this does not happen again in the future.
I value your feedback and appreciate you bringing this to my attention. I hope this experience hasn't diminished your overall enjoyment of the trip.

Allan Tan, our guide in Tokyo was the highlight of our trip. He was not only very knowledgeable and helpful, but incredibly charming and enthusiastic.
Slash, our guide in Osaka and Kyoto, was also very knowledgeable and helpful. He helped us find and reserve some excellent restaurants.
The transportation everywhere was excellent. All our drivers were prompt and efficient.
We thought Kim-Kim did a fine job with reservations and we felt we got our money’s worth. Great trip.

We appreciate your feedback regarding the overnight stay in Sapporo. I understand your preference for spending an extra night in Niseko. However, due to the potential for heavy snowfall and road closures in the winter months, staying in Sapporo on the final night is often the most prudent option to ensure a timely departure from Hokkaido.
We always prioritize the safety and smooth travel of our clients, and this is a crucial consideration we take into account when planning itineraries.

We chose to use KimKim for our second time since we had an an amazing ttrip with KimKim in Italy last year, May 2023. All of our expectations were met and we thought we would have the same experience this year with our trip to Japan. Unfortunately, this was not the case. From the moment, we arrived in Tokyo, there were problems. They were as follows:

1. The room in our Tokyo hotel was small and totally outdated for a 4 star hotel. The bed was small and up against the wall which only allowed us to enter the bed from one side. Needless to say, this was a major inconvenience as we had to climb over each other to get into bed. We contacted Asia Highlights and they rectified the situation the next day by moving us to another room which was bigger and more modern. This was the type of room we were expecting from day one. We spent 5 nights in this hotel.
2. Our guide for Tokyo was extremely poor. He was supposed to contact us the night before
to make arrangements about when and where to meet the next day. We did not hear from him until we decided to contact him. Not a great first impression. Once we met him, Carter, we realized there was going to be a language barrier. His English was poor and his understanding of English was just as poor, making communication a challenge. He was very inexperienced an did not know the logistics of being a good guide. He lacked the knowledge and expertise of a guide and really did not not make our visit to Tokyo enjoyable. We kept giving him the benefit of the doubt, but his performance was sub par.
3. When we arrived in Hiroshima, we met our driver at the train station who would take us to our hotel. Unfortunately, the 10 minute drive to the hotel took 1 hour because the driver did not know where he was going. Again, a real lack of communication.
4. Finally, at our hotel in Osaka, we came across the same problem with our room as we did in Tokyo. The room was again small, bed to one side and the room was very dated. This time, we could not change rooms because all of the rooms were booked. Not pleasant. We are seasoned travelers and these accommodations were unacceptable.

On a positive note, we were extremely pleased with our guide, Ho. (Kyoto to Osaka) He was a true professional and paid strict attention to detail. He made the rest our trip very enjoyable. He made changes to the itinerary as he saw fit and always took our needs into consideration when planning the days ahead. Asia Highlights also tried to make accommodations and were responsive to our many messages back and forth but it really did not make up for the poor execution of this trip. We booked this Trip last December and this should have given them ample time to provide us with the best experience possible. As the company that represents them, a better vetting process should be in place. In conclusion, this trip was highly disappointing.

Upon your arrival, we should have provided better representation, and unfortunately, we fell short, not only at the beginning of your trip but throughout various sections of it. What was meant to be a stress-free and exciting adventure for you turned out to be the opposite. We sincerely apologize for the inadequate planning and communication that led to a misunderstanding of your needs, interests, and expectations.

The issues you highlighted, from the accommodation room arrangements to the guide and driver's abilities, should have been better verified by us. We greatly appreciate your feedback and will do our best to ensure that these areas are better managed in the future.

Hotels were good. Transport between different places with the van was good.
Tours guides took us from the hotel to the van and to the planned destinations. We had too many tourist guides, some of them were very unexperienced and they lacked any deep knowledge of the places that they took us to. It seems that the language was a barrier, too.
This trip was overpriced for the quality that we had.
