Carmen Paredes
I always liked to travel, but I never thought of becoming a professional in tourism until I found out that traveling is not only about the beautiful moments I treasure, but also about the positive changes and opportunities we can share with our community and country in many ways. Now, I want to share my passion and help people around the world create unforgettable memories in my country.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"I specialize in tailor-made trips along all Peru, always trying to find new places and enriching experiences for travelers that are interesting in our traditions and history."
How did you get involved in travel?
"I remember that I liked to travel since I was very young. Going on trips with my grandparents to the northern Andes of Peru, where my family is from, are memories that I'll never forget. I think it was there when my love for discovering new places and learn more about my own country started.
Some years after that, I decided to study Sustainable Tourism to get involved in the development of a fair and equitable activity for both travelers and host communities."
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"I would say the travel experience I will never forget happened in Machu Picchu. Although I have been to Machu Picchu many times now, I will never forget the first time I went there.
I clearly remember that morning, I got up very early (I mean, I didn't sleep at all!), grab my camera and head to take the first train to Aguas Calientes. Since I wanted to get to the citadel by walking, once in Aguas Calientes town, I decided that I wouldn't go by bus and take a long way, the steps! Step by step I finally reached the entrance gate, but I just walked into Machu Picchu to start my way up to "Montaña", another one and a half hours hiking up. I got there very tired I have to say, but what I saw at that moment was not only breath-taking but a memory that I still have in my mind, the incredible views of Machu Picchu and the happiness of all the people that had walked the same way as me."

We've just come back from an amazing trip to Peru. We loved every part of it but a special mention to Jhordy and Paulieno our guide and chef for the Salkantay trek who helped us complete a tough challenge across stunning mountains and also to Manuel who led us on many hunts through the jungle.
Everything was organised by Peruvian Soul and all the connections and pickups were stress free.
