Connor Dempsey
Hi, my name is Connor and I'm excited to help you plan your next adventure :)
For me, travel has always been about that feeling of "knowing" a place. I'd like to board my flight home with a story that explains how the people there are unique. Ideally, I want the chance to feel like a local, even for just a little bit, and take myself out of my comfort zone.
Now, Ireland can be a bit touristy, and that's perfectly fine. But, when you come here, you'll absolutely want to see the "real" Ireland, too, and I can help you with that. From the minute you land until the moment you leave, you'll be struck by Ireland's raw authenticity. It might confuse you a bit, especially the accents, but it'll be my pleasure to guide you through this and make sure your time here is exactly what you want.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"I have quite a lot of experience in planning trips, so I'll be able to craft your adventure to meet your needs. I am especially able to help when it comes to trips which cover Ireland's rich culture and history, both inside and beyond Dublin. If you're looking to trace your family's history, I would also be able to help you with that! Whether you want to travel like a local yourself, or would rather a more cushioned journey, I can make sure you experience what you'd like in the style that you want."
How did you get involved in travel?
"Only a few months after I was born, my parents placed me in an Aer Lingus bassinet and took me home to Ireland. We would make that flight across the Atlantic almost once a year for most of my childhood, acclimating me from the very start to travel! Of course, when I turned 18, I moved to Ireland permanently, meaning I'd have even more of the country at my fingertips. I've particularly become a master of Ireland's rail networks, so if you'd like to do part of your journey by train, let me know :)"
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"In December of 2019, my uncle drove my mother and I up to the top of a mountain. After putting on our mudboots, we walked for about fifteen minutes before finding a ruin, with the outline of a house still visible. He turned to me and let me know that this was the house my grandfather grew up in. In that moment, I could look out upon the valley, on the mountains, and see exactly what he saw. I never met my grandfather, but in that moment, we were able to see the same things. The nature was untouched, so what I saw is what he saw when he daydreamed or played as a boy. There's something special about Ireland, and moments like this remind me of it."
