Giovanni Bottazzi
I've been in the Girolibero team for a good 20 years now, coordinating tour leaders and their destinations. I am also in charge of new products and tours. Born and bred in Vicenza (not far from Venice), I have been constantly driven by my passion for adventure and travel. Snow sports score high among my passions, with a never-ending search for the perfect slope.
I adore good food and fine wines and I am working on visiting all the wine-producing areas in the world – preferably by bike (that way he won’t risk losing his driver ’s license!:)). A Vespa enthusiast, I am the proud owner of four vintage models, all beautifully crafted.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"Leisure bike holidays all over Italy, especially in the beautiful Venetian region and the Dolomites area."
How did you get involved in travel?
"When my dad gifted me with my first Vespa, age 15, I started traveling. I began with the local mountains, the Dolomites, and travelled on to Greece, Northern Europe, London, etc I then moved on to bicycles and snowboard, and it became a crescendo supported by my job. We started to organize bike tours in Italy and then we ended up biking the world!"
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"Biking through a thunderstorm and lashing rain with a group of international clients, coming down from Passo San Giovanni while cycling on the “Dolomites to Venice” tour. Lake Garda in front of us, the sky clearing and a big rainbow displaying just for us. A red wine aperitivo on the lake in the sun. This is Italy for me. "
