Juan De Guzman

I am a truly believer in Ecuador´s tourism potential. I have worked in this fantastic industry during all my life, and I love it.
As a travel professional my biggest satisfaction is being able to offer the best of my country through a very personalized service to our guests.
Currently I am the Managing Director at Link Experiences, a specialized tour operator focused on offering bespoke journeys and exclusive experiences in Ecuador and its Galapagos Islands.

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"- The Galapagos Islands, and specially expedition cruises that operate in the archipelago
- Andean cultural and adventure and activities
- Amazon experiences
- Quito and Cuenca historic centres
- Gastronomic experiences
- Ecuadorian coastal cruise
- Wellness
- Corporate retreats"

How did you get involved in travel?

"From a young age, I discovered my passion for helping others have a great time. Eventually, I realized this was part of something bigger: customer service. Alongside this, I’ve always been deeply passionate about travel and a strong believer in Ecuador's tourism potential.

Driven by these interests, I pursued a degree in Hotel and Tourism Management, followed by an MBA with a focus on hospitality.

Since then, I’ve been fortunate to connect my passion for travel with helping others enjoy transformative experiences in the region. I spent five enriching years with Celebrity Cruises Galapagos, gaining invaluable service experience, before serving as an advisor to the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador, promoting my beloved country to the world.

In 2016, we founded Link Experiences, a specialized tour operator focused on creating bespoke journeys and exclusive experiences in Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands, and Peru, all while honoring the local culture. Visit us at: www.linkexperiences.com"

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"My first cruise to the Galapagos is one of of the trips I will never forget. Snorkeling with sea lions, watching penguins swimming and blue footed boobies dancing during the mating season were unforgettable moments that sparked my deep love for nature and shaped my career path."

Overall the experience was positive although the logistics associated with 4 nights in Quito proved to be a problem with much time wasted getting in and out of the city. Two nights in Quito would have been plenty. Two extra nights out of Quito would have allowed more time to explore areas out of the city. Read more

A very authentic hotel although the staff were very inexperienced and seem to lack adequate supervision.

Dear John,
Thank you very much for your review and for allowing us to host you in Ecuador. I am happy your overall experience in Ecuador was good!

Dear John,
Thank you very much for your review and for allowing us to host you in Ecuador. I am happy your overall experience in Ecuador was good!
I also appreciate your feedback in regards to the number of nights in Quito. We typically suggest Quito as a strategic hub for accommodation due to its central location for day trips to the volcanoes, the Otavalo indigenous market, and the cloud forest. Because these latter two destinations are a bit further out between each other, we suggest in your itinerary to return to sleep those 2 nights afterward to Quito so you can have enough rest and see as much as possible.
Thanks again and I hope you can come back soon to Ecuador.
