How did you get involved in travel?

"My journey began in my childhood, long before the year 2000. I was born in a small, undeveloped town in Kayin State, Myanmar, where I had never seen an airplane or a foreigner. Even television was rare due to limited electricity. From an early age, I was curious about the world and eager to learn about different cultures and ways of life.

After high school, I moved to Yangon to study Chinese and English at the University of Foreign Languages. It was a challenging time for me, but I was determined to build a better future and never gave up. From that time, I saw the tourism industry as a gateway to see the world and share knowledge—it became a lifelong dream of mine.

I started my career at a travel agency that served the French market, when I also learned the French language since 2006. Over ten years of experience, I became a Sales Specialist. To further my growth, I earned a Diploma in Tourism Management & Operations from the Institute of Commercial Management (UK) and an MBA from Stanford International University, Thailand. I then worked with a multinational travel agency, managing global markets and overseeing MICE. I enjoyed working with international tour leaders and gained valuable experience with the TOURPLAN system and Travel Life.

Now, as a local specialist in Thailand, I’m grateful to work with KimKim, designing unique travel experiences and creating tailor-made itineraries for clients. This work brings me true happiness, and I’m always excited to continue my journey in the tourism industry. Through this long journey of tourism experience, this is how I became a Sales Specialist, and I look forward to meeting new clients, delivering unique travel experiences, and helping fulfill their travel dreams."

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"When I became the MICE Manager for a large group of 100 people, it was my first time handling such a sizable group. I worked closely with our Country Manager and the tour leader throughout the journey. The trip was organized with a private charter plane, and the itinerary was tight due to the clients’ limited holiday time. The program included various activities, unique visits, personalized surprises, as well as group and individual activities, and celebrations.

To ensure smooth operations, I often felt stressed, especially during daily reconfirmations with local partners to ensure all arrangements before the clients’ including hotel check-ins, airport, restaurant bookings, and others. Every morning, I woke up early to ensure everything was prepared: checking breakfast arrangements, coordinating with guides, confirming bus schedules, and ensuring the day’s itinerary was followed down to the smallest detail till dinner. At the time, I remembered that I was studying MBA program and I got sleepless for some nights in order to finish my assignments on time.

Although it was the most exhausting trip of my career, it was invaluable in helping me develop tourism time management and problem-solving skills. Despite the fatigue, I was re-energized by the clients’ smiling faces and positive feedback. Their satisfaction became the most motivating factor, boosting my confidence in my role. I also learned the importance of community engagement in ensuring smooth travel, and that as Sales Specialists, we must work closely with local communities to deliver exceptional service. This experience remains a valuable part of my journey, and I am truly passionate about ensuring stress-free travel for my clients, creating the travel experiences they expect."
