This was my first time using any kind of travel agency to plan a trip and Chris did not disappoint! I was initially nervous about using a virtual company with minimal insight into cost, but Chris made sure to assuage my concerns along every step of the way. I was able to provide specific guidance on what we wanted, and Chris helped fill in the gaps, share insider recommendations, find great local vendors, and most significantly coordinate all the flight/ferry/transfer logistics that had me looking for a travel agent in the first place. It was an incredible trip and I would definitely consider using KimKim again for our next international adventure. My only piece of feedback would be for there to be more visibility into the vendors that KimKim partners with once everything is booked and paid for. The names of the vendors we did our activities with weren't proactively shared and I would have liked to have been able to look them up in advance, which would have afforded us some more flexibility and control over our itinerary.
Hotel Reviews
What a hidden gem. Hands down the nicest place I have ever stayed. The location was incredible, with sunset views over the Temple of Apollo from the bedroom balcony (one of THREE balconies in our room!). Exceptionally clean and peaceful. The suite is just far enough from the busy harbor walk to be quiet and secluded but within a ten minute walk of everything you need, including several excellent restaurants. And the breakfast is not to be missed - a tantalizing display of local dishes, fresh fruit, and pastries all homemade by the proprietor's family!
Located in the middle of the caldera, it's certainly picturesque - but the pictures can be deceiving. Our hot tub was essentially in the middle of a public sidewalk and afforded absolutely no privacy. The furnishing is sparse and many of the items are in poor condition. The concierge was extremely pushy and rude, criticizing our itinerary within moments of meeting and pressuring us to cancel our plans to sign on with other vendors he no doubt has a kick-back arrangement with. We were treated less like welcome guests and more like inconvenient rubes. I understand it may be the end of a long tourism season, but it's Santorini - the entire local economy is driven by tourism. For the price, I'd expect to be have been treated with at least the warm welcome I experienced elsewhere in Greece, plus better quality amenities. You can probably find a nicer, more welcoming place for the cost.
