This was an excellent experience for us being our first planned trip. Everything went according to plan except for the cancelled boat from Balestrand to Bergen due to mechanical issues, so we ended up with 6 more hours in Balestrand.

Closer to the center of the city would have been better. Major construction right out our window with cranes, loud noises, etc.
