Renting a car is the best option for travelers heading from Lake Myvatn to the seaside village of Seydisfjordur in the Eastfjords. The 125-mile (201 km) journey has bountiful opportunities for scenic stops, so it's wise to allow for extra time—think waterfalls and gorgeous views. It is possible to do a private transfer as well, but in Iceland, this is typically an expensive option.
