Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Amman

On arrival, you will be met at the airport in Amman and transferred 19 miles to Madaba, located south-west of the capital. This city is best known as the location of the Madaba Map, a 6th-century mosaic depiction of Jerusalem and parts of the Holy Land.

Day 2: Discover the Mosaics of Madaba and the Ruins of Jerash

After breakfast, spend the morning discovering the beautiful Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics of Madaba. In the late morning, a driver will take you north to Jerash (Gerasa) to visit the ruins of the Greco-Roman city. Wander along the Colonnaded Street,  climb the steps of the Temple of Artemis or listen to the traditional bagpipers in the Theater. In the late afternoon, you will return to Madaba where you will stay overnight.

Day 3: Journey Along the King's Highway to Wadi Rum

Travel south along the King's Highway to Wadi Rum, also known as Valley of the Moon. Your first stop along this ancient trade route is Karak Castle, one of the largest crusader castles in the Middle East. Continue down to Dana Nature Reserve, to enjoy some amazing views into the green valleys and over into Wadi Araba. Late afternoon you arrive in the protected area of Wadi Rum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Overnight in an authentic Bedouin camp in Wadi Rum. 

Day 4: Relax on the Beaches of Aqaba

This morning, enjoy a 2-hour jeep safari in the desert. Visit the Nabatean Inscriptions, red sand dunes, and rock bridges, before continuing south to Aqaba for some relaxing time beside the pool or at the beach. If you like, you can scuba dive or snorkel on the coral reef.

Day 5: Discover Little Petra

Today you have the morning to relax on the beach. In the afternoon, you will travel to Petra and make a short visit to Little Petra, for a taste of what’s to come tomorrow. 

Day 6: Explore the Ancient City of Petra

Explore the fantastic UNESCO World Heritage Site of Petra. Visit the Royal Tombs and climb to the viewpoint to look down onto the Treasury as the morning sun hits it. Or climb up the mountain opposite to the High Place of Sacrifice and take the trail down to the Garden Temple Complex. At the end of the day, walk back to your hotel for the night. 

Day 7: Bathe in the Dead Sea

After breakfast, take the beautiful scenic route to the lowest point on Earth: the Dead Sea. Float in the mineral-rich water and give yourself a mud treatment with the therapeutic mud. 

Day 8: Depart Amman

Time to say goodbye to Jordan. Today you will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight. Depending on your departure time you can visit Mt Nebo on the way.
