Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in London, British Museum Tour, Rooftop Cinema
Welcome to England! Upon arrival at the airport, you and your family will be met by your driver and transferred to your central London hotel. England's capital is a dynamic, family-friendly city filled with inspiring museums for kids of all ages. After dropping off your bags at your hotel and settling in, you'll start your UK adventure with a visit to the famous British Museum, whose exhibitions and collections detail two million years of human history and culture.
On a private tour, you and your family will hunt for clues and hints as you discover the museum's highlights, aided by your fun and knowledgeable guide. Discover treasures such as the famous Rosetta Stone, which the French and English used to decipher Egyptian hieroglyphs, and travel back to Ancient Greece to see marble sculptures and statues from the Parthenon.
Day 2: "Harry Potter" Walking Tour, Visit Kensington Palace
"Harry Potter" fans are in for a treat this morning as you and the kids set out on a 2.5-hour guided tour of London that will enchant fans of J.K. Rowling's wizarding world. See the places that inspired the famous author to create her best-selling series of books, from Shakespeare's Globe Theatre to the murky backstreets that inspired Knockturn Alley. You'll also see highlights, including 800-year-old Borough Market, the London Eye, and the real-life school where Daniel Radcliffe himself once studied.
After a morning immersed in the myth and lore of wizards and witchcraft, it's time to discover some of England's real-life royal history. Seventeenth-century Kensington Palace has housed royalty, including Queen Victoria, Princess Diana, and the Prince and Princess of Wales. On a two-hour tour, you and the kids will discover Queen Victoria's childhood rooms, the King's Gallery, and the Queen's State Apartments, where Queen Mary II took her meals and entertained guests. At the end of the tour, you'll return to your hotel.
Day 3: Optional London Activities, Overnight Caledonian Sleeper to Edinburgh
It's your last day in London, and you have several options. You could delight Lego fans of all ages with a trip to Legoland in Windsor. An easy one-hour train journey from Waterloo Station and a short taxi ride to the resort, Legoland is filled with over 55 rides, attractions, and experiences. Soar through treetops to escape fearsome dragons, ride thrilling rapids with a Viking fleet, or join Lego divers on a mesmerizing underwater adventure. You'll find plenty of family-friendly restaurants and facilities at the site to ensure a hassle-free day before returning to London for the evening.
If you'd prefer to take advantage of your last day in the capital with more sightseeing, a trip to the Natural History Museum should be at the top of your list. In the company of an experienced guide, you'll spend several hours touring the museum's top sights. Little ones will be wowed by the T Rex skeleton in the Dinosaur Gallery, while the whole family will be astonished to see the jaw-dropping blue whale skeleton hanging from the ceiling and measuring 82 feet (25 m) in length.
There's one more surprise in store this evening when, after dinner, you head to Euston Station in time to catch the Caledonian Sleeper, an overnight train line known for its comfort and amenities with WiFi, double beds, and room service. See the Great Hall of King James IV, which has borne witness to banquets and state events over the centuries, and learn about the castle's history through an immersive exhibition in the Argyle Tower.
Day 5: Cairngorms National Park Wildlife Safari, Transfer to Inverness
Located roughly 127 miles (204 km) north of Edinburgh, Cairngorms National Park offers some of the best wildlife diversity in the United Kingdom, and on today's full-day wildlife safari, you and your family will encounter its wilder side. After breakfast and checkout, meet your driver and guide, then set off on a drive through expansive heather-clad moorlands, passing towering Caledonian pine forests and pristine lochs. There'll be plenty of opportunities to stretch your legs throughout the day as your experienced guide helps you seek out the local wildlife, which should include red deer, golden eagles, and ospreys.
At the end of the safari, you'll continue north with your driver to Inverness, a city on the banks of the River Ness known as the capital of the Highlands. Check into your hotel and get the kids settled after the drive before heading out to one of the town's cozy, child-friendly pubs for dinner.

Today, you and your family will wave goodbye to Inverness and meet your driver for a two-hour transfer southwest to Fort William. Known as the "adventure capital of the UK," this loch-side town sits between crystal-clear lakes and snowcapped mountains. It's also the gateway for climbing excursions on Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain.
Day 7: Half-Day Kayaking Adventure in the Highland Lochs
It's your last day in Fort William, and whether the sun's shining or you're enjoying more traditionally Scottish weather, it's "nay bother" as you and your family will be kitted out in weather-appropriate gear for a half-day kayaking trip. Whether you're a seasoned paddler or an absolute beginner, your guide will make sure you have everything you need and know the strokes and techniques needed to paddle and steer your kayak. Set out, and the next three hours are yours to spend some relaxed family time enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Highlands.
