Day 1: Arrive to Nairobi

Welcome to Kenya! After arriving at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), a driver will transfer you to your accommodation at Wildebeest Eco Camp. Here'll you'll enjoy nights in a luxury safari tent or a cottage. Settle in for the night and walk the beautiful grounds of the camp. You'll feel like you're sleeping in the jungle with so much greenery surrounding the property, plus a large gardens and pond.

Enjoy a leisurely evening swimming in the pool or sipping wine from your balcony. Then have dinner on the deck as you view the sun setting into the savanna.

Day 2: Explore the Culture and Wildlife of Nairobi

Elephants at the Rescue Center

Rise with the sun to make the most of your day exploring the cultural spots of Nairobi, as well as enjoying wildlife sightings. You'll start your day at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to view rescued elephants. If you've "adopted" an elephant from the center, then you have the option to return in the evening to meet your adoptee!

Next is the Giraffe Center. Here's you'll experience hands-on giraffe encounters and learn all about the efforts behind giraffe conservation in Kenya. After lunch, you'll end the day at the Kazuri Bead Factory, where you'll tour the facility and learn about how local Kenyan clay is used to create beads and pottery. The factory has been established as a women’s work cooperative and continues to provide quality employment for women.

Your driver will take you back to your camp to settle in for the evening and enjoy dinner.

Day 3: Drive to Maasai Mara

The Great Migration Along the Mara River

After an early breakfast, you'll leave Nairobi and drive to Maasai Mara.  After settling into your accommodation, you'll enjoy lunch and an afternoon game drive. If you're traveling between July and October, you can can see the Great Migration along the Mara River where an abundance of wildlife congregates. You can spot elephants, zebras, lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, buffalos, rhinos, and more. 

Tonight you have two options for lodging. You can opt to stay at Keekorok Lodge, a large guesthouse with rooms situated among more than 700 square miles of lush, sun-drenched plains. You'll be ideally situated in the direct path of the spectacular animal migration. Here you'll have the opportunity for morning and evening game drives , as well as exploring a wooden boardwalk that leads to a hippo pool. 

The other option is Matira Bush Camp, which consists of luxury tents set in the heart of the Maasai Mara Great Migration. Six spacious tents are located under shady trees on a small river bank where you will enjoy peaceful immersion in nature. Just a few steps outside the camp you can see antelope, elephants, lions, leopards, and more. The staff consists of experienced local Maasai, who will look after you for your comfort and safety.

Day 4: Explore the Plains with Morning and Afternoon Safaris

Awake early to experience a morning game drive. As the sun rises, the animals begin to stir, making it the perfect time for lazy wildlife sightings. The Mara River will be roaring as animals cross for the annual migration. After lunch you'll continue on your game drive to catch sightings of many different animals that call the vast plains their home. These include, giraffes, zebras, lions, cheetahs, buffalos, and antelopes.

Return to your accommodation to enjoy the grounds and get ready for your final dinner in Kenya. Depending on where you're staying, you can take a dip in the pool, sip wine in the lodge, or walk to the hippos viewing pool.

Day 5: Return to Nairobi

Goodbye, Kenya!

After your final breakfast, you'll depart Maasai Mara via a small bush plane. As you fly over the savanna, you can catch a glimpse of the Mara River and its migration from the sky. You'll arrive in Nairobi by noon, where you can catch your flight home.
