Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Victoria Falls
Welcome to Zimbabwe! The town of Victoria Falls is home to the eponymous waterfall, which is one of the largest in the world. A driver will be waiting for you at Victoria Falls Airport (VFA), and they will transfer you to your accommodation, Explorers Lodge. You'll have the rest of the evening free to see the falls and explore. There are many outdoor activities available in the falls, and we are happy to provide you with details and help in booking.
Suggested activities include:
- Take a sunset cruise down the Zambezi River
- Book a helicopter flight over the falls
- Set out on a full-day whitewater rafting adventure
- Test your adventurous spirit with a bungee jump over the falls
- Go on a canopy tour with zip lines and rope bridges
Days 2-3: Free Day in Victoria Falls
Today, you'll be able to explore the falls on your own, and they're only a 15-minute walk from your accommodation. The paths around the falls are clearly marked and easy to navigate on your own, but you can also book a guided tour.
If you're interested in getting close to wildlife, you can book a personal elephant encounter where you meet a herd of elephants and their handlers and walk through the bush with them.
Chat with a local specialist who can help organize your trip.
Days 4-5: Canoeing and Camping Trip
Today, you will be collected from your accommodation and taken to the launch site of your two-day canoeing safari. You'll spend your first day canoeing down the Zambezi River towards Victoria Falls, where you'll stop for lunch. Then, you will continue down the river to your tented camp where you'll spend the night. The canoeing safari is fully serviced, so you will be with a guide and camp staff who will set up camp and prepare your meals.
The next morning, you'll pack up your camp and get back on the river. At the end of your epic adventure, you'll be picked up by a driver and brought back to Victoria Falls.
Day 6: Transfer to Hwange National Park
Today, a driver will pick you up and take you to Robins Camp in Hwange National Park, which is two and a half hours from Victoria Falls. After you check in and settle in, you'll be able to explore the grounds for the rest of the late afternoon and evening.
Days 7-8: Safari at Robins Camp
You'll have the next two days to go on safari drives and hikes around the national park. Days in the area are typically lovely and warm, but game viewing is also excellent in the cooler months as animals are drawn to water sources as the bush is dry. You can also talk to a representative about booking more activities in the area.
When you're not on safari, you can relax, take a refreshing dip in the pool, and watch for animals who visit the camp.
Day 9: Departure via Victoria Falls
It's time to say goodbye to Zimbabwe! After you have your last breakfast in Africa, a representative will pick you up at your accommodation and drive you to Victoria Falls Airport for your international flight home.
