What you'll do

Dive into the vibrant culinary scene of San Sebastián with a hands-on cooking class. Begin by meeting your guide in the Parte Vieja (Old Town) at De Valle Lersundi Plazatxoa, then take a short walk to a revered family-run restaurant. Here, you'll be warmly welcomed into the working kitchen. A professional chef will be your mentor, introducing you to the traditional cooking methods of Basque cuisine.

Learn to cook four of Spain's traditional dishes: tortilla de patatas (potato omelet), bacalao al pil pil (codfish in pil pil sauce), steak with red piquillo peppers, and the iconic burnt Basque cheesecake. As you cook, the chef will tell you about the rich history and traditions behind each of these beloved dishes.

Afterward, sit down to feast on your creations. Each dish will be paired with a handpicked drink: Basque cider (which you'll learn to pour), red and white wine, and a special iced apple cider. This fermented beverage, made from the natural juices of frozen apples, is a regional favorite and a perfect finale to your meal. Bid farewell to your hosts and leave with a recipe card to recreate your Basque cooking adventure at home.
