What you'll do

Your full-day Easter Island excursion starts with hotel pick-up, where you'll meet your knowledgeable guide, who will accompany you on an enriching journey through the island's captivating archaeological sites and natural wonders. Your first stop will likely be Ahu Te Pito Kura, a site known for housing the only fallen moai that has remained in its original position over time. Perhaps your guide will share fascinating historical anecdotes as you examine the location.

Your next stop may be the Rano Raraku Volcano, the source of stone for all the moai and other statues that dot the island. Here, you can observe the partially finished figures carved into the hillside. From here, you'll likely journey to Ahu Tongariki, which features 15 moai displayed in a row and is primarily considered one of the island's most significant ceremonial structures. As you marvel at the grandeur of this site, it's common to enjoy a delicious cooked lunch prepared by your guide.

When you finish exploring and taking photos at Ahu Tongariki, perhaps you'll visit Ahu Akahanga, believed to be the burial place of Hotu Matu'a, a legendary figure considered the first chief and leader of the original Polynesian settlers on Easter Island. The trip's last stop will likely be the beautiful Anakena Beach, with its white sand and two ocean-facing moai. Here, you can unwind, stroll along the sandy shores, snap some photos, or relax under a palm tree, enjoying the tranquillity of the surroundings. Your guide may drop you back at your hotel as the afternoon ends.
