What you'll do
Your day starts in the quaint village of Flåm, where you'll embark on a boating excursion that takes you through the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord. As you cruise around on an inflatable RIB boat, your knowledgeable guide will reveal the unique scenery of the fjords, peppered with cascading waterfalls, picturesque villages, and a diverse array of flora and fauna. You'll learn about the history of the area and the people who settled in these rugged landscapes.
As you continue your exploration, keep your eyes peeled for the chance to spot wildlife thriving in their natural habitat. The fjords are a sanctuary for a variety of species. With every turn as you zoom through the fjords, you'll encounter new sights.
Midway through your journey, you'll make a pit stop at the charming village of Undredal. Nestled between two steep mountain slopes, this humble village is world-renowned for its goat cheese production. You'll get the opportunity to delve into the cheese-making process, learning about the local traditions that have been passed down through generations. Your local host will let you sample different types of cheeses, each served with traditional flatbread and jam to enhance the flavors.
You'll also get a glimpse of the village's way of life and its endearing customs, offering a firsthand experience of the warmth of Norwegian village culture. And if you'd like to take a piece of Undredal back home, the local café offers a range of products for purchase, perfect for reliving this delightful experience long after your trip ends.
