Relaxing Beach Day near Porto Ercole in Southern Tuscany, Monte Argentario
Overview
Maremma has various beaches and landscapes, plus a deep lagoon formed between the island and the Tuscan coast. Here you’ll disappear into the dunes, the parasol pines, the whale-back isles, and the timeless countryside. This region hosts some of the best beaches in Tuscany and Italy.
After Liguria, Maremma has more Blue Flag beaches than anywhere else in Italy, with beguiling coves clustered along the coast or carved into the Monte Argentario peninsula. Follonica, Castiglione della Pescaia, and Alberese are amongst the most popular ones. Top beaches include those in the Nature Reserve of the Uccellina Park and the lovely Feniglia Beach that connects Mount Argentario to the mainland.
Consider an afternoon boat tour near sunset time for a bit more luxury as you explore the beaches and crystal blue waters.
