What you'll do
After boarding your ferry at the Shetlands-Larsens Brygge pier, next to Bergen's iconic fish market, you'll be welcomed aboard by a friendly crew before it's time to set sail. Saying goodbye to the UNESCO-listed Bryggen harbor, with its colorful wooden buildings, you'll continue across the serene Osterfjord, heading north toward Modalen.
As you navigate the fjord, the captain will expertly guide the boat through the narrow and shallow Mostraumen straits, where you'll experience the rush of powerful currents. You'll be treated to increasingly dramatic landscapes, with towering mountains and numerous waterfalls. The captain will bring the boat close to one of these cascading waterfalls, providing a perfect photo opportunity and the chance to feel the mist on your face.
Throughout the cruise, you can listen to the provided audio guides to further enrich your experience, and you may even get to see wildlife. The fjord is home to birds, goats grazing on summer pastures, and occasionally seals sunbathing on the rocky shores. With a bit of luck, you might even spot eagles soaring overhead.
Your vessel is designed for comfort and enjoyment, featuring spacious indoor and outdoor areas to take in the views, regardless of the weather. Inside, you'll find a heated cabin, restrooms, and a kiosk selling freshly baked goods from a local bakery, along with a selection of snacks and hot or cold drinks. For families, the crew often organizes fun activities like treasure hunts or bingo for children, making this cruise a delightful experience for travelers of all ages.
