What you'll do
You don't have to spend hours in a museum to appreciate the artwork, which is why this 90-minute tour is perfect for those who want to learn about Spanish and international art while focusing on the highlights. After meeting your guide (an expert in the art world) and your small group at the Monument to Goya, you'll step inside and enjoy a catered experience through the Museo Nacional del Prado, with plenty of fascinating facts and stories to keep you entertained along the way.
As you stroll through the halls, you'll discover little-known anecdotes about the artists and their visions. For example, what's the meaning behind Goya's dark black background, and why does that differ so much from the golden glow of the Gothic era? What's the true story of Velázquez's "Las Meninas," and did Bosch predict the future in the 15th century with "The Garden of Earthly Delights Triptych?" Your guide will reveal these secrets and answer other inquiries you might have about the museum's vast collection before you part ways at the end of the visit.
