Snorkeling with the Whales

This tour leaves in the morning by boat from the village of Andenes, which is the northernmost settlement of Norway's Andøya Island. It's also a winter migratory destination for orca, humpback, and fin whales who come to feast on the large schools of herring in the nearby Andfjord. This tour involves one exciting activity: snorkeling amid these magnificent creatures.

The day begins with an educational lecture and safety briefing about the whales. Then it's time to grab the snorkeling equipment and throw on a drysuit, which is a full-body, waterproof suit with thermal insulation to protect the wearer from cold water. Once in the ocean, it's possible to swim alongside these most awesome of marine mammals in what will definitely be an unforgettable experience. The excursion ends around mid-day.
