Arathusa Safari Lodge, Sabi Sands Game Reserve

5.0 (1 review) · Luxury
Luxurious safari lodge with a spa, an infinity pool, and daily opportunities to see the Big Five

Overview

Arathusa Safari Lodge, part of the Sabi Sand Reserve and greater Kruger National Park, is a gateway to one of the world's most abundant natural wilderness areas, teeming with hundreds of animal species, including the Big Five (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo). Leopards, in particular, are abundant in the region, and Arathusa prides itself on tracking these big cats. The remote lodge offers its signature feature, the vast waterhole, located directly in front of the lodge and surrounded by an open plain. Elephants, lions, and other species gather at the waterhole so that you can enjoy a safari experience without even leaving the property.

The lodge offers just over 10 elegantly designed suites, some facing the waterhole, while the others are scattered in the bush. The spacious suites have natural, modern interiors, wooden floors with area rugs, and high wooden ceilings. They feature tubs with views of the bush or waterhole, private outdoor showers, and verandas to take in the landscape. The suites also have private plunge pools so that you can cool off in the privacy of your suite. Past Kimkim travelers have praised the lodge's cleanliness, comfort, and attention to detail.

The lodge has several amenities, including two open-air lounges, a bar, a wine cellar, a dining area, a safari spa, and a curio shop. Cool off with an afternoon dip in the infinity swimming pool overlooking the waterhole, which is perfect for wildlife viewing. Unwind in the Safari Spa, with its wide selection of treatments. You'll have daily opportunities to enjoy game drives in an open safari vehicle, guided walks with an armed field guide, or bird-watching expeditions. Once you've worked up an appetite, the staff serves meals in the traditional open-air boma or on the deck overlooking the waterhole.

This safari lodge is so amazing. My husband and I spent 5 days here and loved every minute. Our room was beautiful and so we’re the grounds. Animals come up to the watering hole to drink daily and you see so much wildlife. Our guide (DeBeer) and tracker (Ish) were experts and got us up close and personal to so many animals. I was in heaven! The real star of the show when it comes to Arathusa, was the staff. From the moment we stepped foot on the grounds, we felt so welcomed and taken care of.... Read more

The level of service is unmatched and we loved being pampered. Thank you, Arathusa staff for making our safari a dream!
