Estancia Rio de Los Ciervos, Punta Arenas

Standard
Rustic 20th-century ranch with charming vintage-style rooms, a traditional barbecue area, and two dining rooms

Overview

Experience Patagonia's history on this 20th-century ranch located 10 minutes outside of Punta Arenas' center. Built between 1920 and 1940, this former family home is now a seven-room hotel that has maintained original elements like its quincho (barbecue area), wine cellar, and dining rooms. Positioned just off of the Río de los Ciervos, this hotel is a more remote option in Punta Arenas and requires a car to access the city. Drive to Plaza Muñoz Gamero in 10 minutes, where you'll find a mix of restaurants, shops, and sites, or head to the Tres Puentes dock in 15 to catch a boat to Magdalena Island.

Estancia Río de Los Ciervos offers double or triple rooms, so there are options for couples and families. Rooms are decorated in a 1940s ranch style with a mix of vintage pieces and wooden furniture. WiFi and cable TV are included, and all rooms have patios. Bathrooms have bathtubs with showers, so you can soak after a day of exploring Patagonia's nature.

The hotel has several common areas where you can experience different aspects of local life and culture. Enjoy a meal in one of the property's two cozy dining rooms or try some of the region's famous grilled meat in the quincho, a traditional covered barbecue area.
