Overview
El Maco offers a unique and tranquil getaway in the Colombian Andes in San Agustín, allowing you to immerse yourself in nature and enjoy authentic experiences. This eco-friendly lodge is situated on an ecological farm, just a 10-minute drive from the town center of San Agustín and its world-renowned Archaeological Park—home to the mysterious monoliths left behind by an ancient community. With a mild subtropical climate and scenic landscapes, you can explore the countryside on horseback, hike to waterfalls and lush forests, or even go river rafting.
Featuring 11 independent cabins, El Maco provides a comfortable stay surrounded by nature. Each cabin offers a unique and cozy space, with options ranging from the charming Bamboo Cabin with its garden-set shower to the spacious and luxurious Ecolodge with a private Jacuzzi and fireplace. For those who prefer a more hands-on experience, the lodge also provides a guest kitchen stocked with farm-fresh products and facilities to cook your own meals.
El Maco is more than just a hotel—it's a home away from home. With a family-like atmosphere, the friendly and helpful staff will make you feel welcome. You can relax in the hammocks, stroll through the gardens, or enjoy a cup of coffee with views of the mountains. In the evenings, gather around the campfire and indulge in delicious meals prepared with fresh, local ingredients at the property's on-site restaurant.
