Parker Cottage, Cape Town

Charming Victorian inn near Table Mountain offering gourmet breakfasts served indoor or outdoor and cozy communal spaces

Overview

Built in 1895, Parker Cottage is a beautiful Victorian bed and breakfast tucked away on a quiet side street, only five minutes from the city center by car. If you're interested in visiting nearby attractions, V&A Waterfront is a 9-minute drive away, and you can arrive at Table Mountain by car in 13 minutes. If you want to have a meal out, there are various restaurant options within a 10-minute walk from the property. The interior features wooden floors and different communal rooms where guests can spend their time.

The bed and breakfast has just over 10 cozy and beautifully furnished guestrooms, each designed to accommodate two adults comfortably. If you need space for a third, some rooms can accommodate an additional fold-away bed. Parker Cottage also offers a Family Suite for small groups that sleeps up to five people. While the building captures the charm of staying in at an older property, each room is spacious and bright, updated with modern conveniences and window views overlooking the well-kept grounds.

All guests can enjoy a gourmet breakfast, whether in front of a roaring fire during winter or under the orange tree in summer. The staff sources ingredients locally and plans a diverse menu that caters to various dietary needs. After breakfast, relax by the fire in one of the warm drawing rooms or bask in the sun in the furnished summer garden featuring a koi pond. As an additional perk, you can contribute to the community by staying at Parker Cottage, as the property sponsors scholarships for nearby schools, supports local businesses, and operates in an environmentally friendly manner.
